Calling all honey lovers, bee lovers and Dublin beekeepers! This year’s Dublin honey show will be upon us very soon. It is the time for beekeepers to show off their best produce of the year – every type of honey, plus candles, cakes, mead, biscuits, photographs, etc. – to other beekeepers and to the public. Prizes are only awarded for top-class entries, so competition is fierce. The competition is open to all members of any Irish beekeeping associations, so if you’d like to know more, check out the entry form here .
The Dublin Honey Show is also a great opportunity for the general public to meet the beekeepers and ask quesions about bees, honey and beekeeping. As well as the competition, there is a craft fair and a country produce stall. Teas and coffees will be for sale. Finally, of course, we will be selling Dublin honey!
Check out a couple of pictures of recent honey shows here. The show runs from 10:30am to 4pm on Saturday 6th November, in Christ Church Hall, Rathgar. The small entry fee is donated directly to a chosen charity. We look forward to meeting you there!
