Mid-January and most of us Dublin beekeepers have had a pretty mild winter so far – though the weather has turned colder now. The mild weather may have caused your bees to consume more stores – so do heft your hives to check whether the bees have enough stores. There’s a fondant supplier listed on our links page.
For our association, beekeeping activities begin again next week. On Monday 21st we hold our AGM and all members are encouraged to attend. On Monday 4th February we have our first spring lecture, and the following day, Tuesday 5th, our beginners’ course starts. There are still places available so if you would like to learn all about beekeeping for just EUR 100 at our evening class, contact Ann via the details on this page.
Let’s hope for a good harvest in 2013 and hope to see you at one of our events!
