The 2014 Dublin Honey Show is now open for entries!

Hello all,_N8R2482.jpg

The Dublin Honey Show is now accepting entries.  This year you may enter the honey show competition online using the form at www.dublinbees.org/entryform – or fill out the traditional entry form, and post it to the Honey Show Secretary or bring it along on the day.  If you enter in good time, either online or by post, we can post your entry labels to you.  Here are the documents:

This year we have three new entry classes, including two that are restricted to Co Dublin BKA members, to give all our members the best possible chance of winning prizes.  We look forward to seeing you – and your entries – at the Honey Show in Christ Church, Rathgar on November the 8th.  After last year’s record event we are expecting another busy year, with lots of entries and plenty of honey for sale.

Once again we have two free lectures for visitors:

– At noon, expert beekeeper Keith Pierce will speak on ‘Beginning with bees’

– At 2pm, environmentalist and former Green Party TD Mary White will speak on the topic ‘Bees Work for Man but Does Man Work for Bees?’

Finally, if you can spare some time to help out on the day, please let our honey show secretary – Simon – know via his email address: simon<at>simonrees.com.
