This year we hold our honey show on Saturday 7th November, from 10:30am till 4pm at Christ Church, Rathgar.  There you will find:

  • The best raw Dublin honey for sale
  • A competition for the best honey / mead / candles / photographs etc. If you are a beekeeper, come and enter your produce – and try win a prize!  If not, come and marvel at the beautiful exhibits.
  • A craft fair
  • Beekeeping-related lectures at 12:00 noon and 2pm (one of our lecturers this year is a famous beekeeper!)
  • Teas, coffees, sandwiches and delicious cake

If you are keen on buying honey, do come early because we always sell out.

This year two of our judges are from the Scottish Beekeepers’ Association – Bron and David Wright.  Bron and David Wright have been keeping bees in Edinburgh since 1997 and have been Scottish Honey Judges since 2008.  They have judged at local and national level, including the National Honey Show in London.  They continue to exhibit at local and national level in a variety of classes including honey, wax, mead and baking.

If you are entering the competition, you will need the schedule of classes and the rules.  You can download them here and here.  You can enter online using the form at  http://dublinbees.org/entryform, or download an entry form here.

Finally, if you are a member of the Co. Dublin beekeepers’ association and can spare a few hours to help out on the day, we’d love to have you.  If you can help out, click here to email Simon.
