People say that the best honey for you is honey harvested from bees living locally – but Dublin honey can be hard to find. Here are our suggestions for buying Dublin honey:
The Dublin Honey Show, held in Christ Church, Rathgar in early November each year, is where the Dublin Beekeepers’ Association sells its own honey. It’s also a great way to learn about bees and beekeeping. Arrive early because we often sell out by lunchtime!
Some of our members sell their honey through shops, although because we are small producers, you are more likely to find it in the autumn, just after the harvest, than at other times. Places that stock members’ honey from time to time include:
- Fruit World greengrocers in Stillorgan
- Justin’s fruit and Veg in Blanchardstown village
Failing that, try your local deli. Facebook users might like to check out the Dublin Honey Project.
